Mesothelioma, what is it?
Mesothelioma or the full name Malignant mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer advanced that occurs in the mesothelium, the thin layer of cells lining the body’s internal organs. There are three recognized types of mesothelioma:
1. Pleural mesothelioma, is the most common form of the disease, accounting for roughly 70% of cases, and occurs in the lining of the lung known as the pleura, sometimes also called as mesothelioma lung cancer.
2. Peritoneal mesothelioma, also known as the peritoneum mesothelioma, occurs in the lining of the abdominal cavity.
3. Pericardial mesothelioma, originates in the pericardium, which lines the heart.
